In order to launch Aurora
into orbit, there will be a free launch
party on May 8th at the Standard in Walthamstow.
04 February
Another gig date and some
album news. Firstly, we will be making a
return to the Bull & Gate for a
"special" in September. Secondly, Aurora will be released in late
May 2009 on Rise Above Records.
27 January 2009
Lots of news today: three
festival dates and more progress on
the new album. The album is now fully mixed and just needs
mastering. Discussions are being held with Rise Above next
week to confirm the release date.
15 December
Recording of the third
album is now finished; it will be mixed at Foel in January and will
be released on Rise Above in 2009.
11 September
One bit of bad news and one bit of
excellent news. To start with the bad, the Black Swan Festival
on September 27th has been cancelled.
Now the truly excellent news: After
a long search across the UK, Litmus have finally found the perfect
keyboard player; not only can he play like a virtuoso but he also
fits in with the "culture" of the band (What is the difference
between Litmus and a pot of bio-yogurt? The bio-yogurt has more
culture.) So please welcome Oli Mayne to the band!
20 August
Two new
gigs: Firstly, the Rise Above
Records 20th Anniversary event at the ULU on December 13th;
secondly, the Cosmic Puffin
Festival on 10-12 April 2009. The latter is a charity
event in support of two very good causes.
16 July
Gig: Litmus will be playing at the
Kosmische Club on September 5th.
27 June
Another
gig! Litmus will be playing at the
Black Swan
Festival in Bath on September 27th. Those strange
creatures from Lordi will be headlining...oooer!
25 June
The Atomic Bitchwax gig has
now been cancelled due to an error on the part of their agent;
apparently, they are incapable of being in both the UK and Belgium
at the same time!
17 June
The Atomic Bitchwax gig has
moved again; this time to the Borderline on July 6th.
14 June
Litmus will be playing at
Hard Rock Hell 2 at
Pontins in Prestatyn (we kid you not!) on December 5th.
09 June
Litmus will be playing at
an all-day event at the
Grosvenor in
Stockwell on October 11th. More details to follow.

The July 4th gig at the
Underworld has moved to July 6th at the
Barfly in Camden.
We will also be playing at the
New Roscoe in Leeds on November 15th as a double-header with
Alan Davey's Gunslinger.

stoner rock legends the Atomic Bitchwax at the
Underworld on
July 4th.

The Indy Awards: well, we
only went and won it, didn't we! Best Heavy Rock Act
2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to the Underworld for nominating us,
everyone who voted us into the final, and the judges for being
completely unable to recognise idiocy when they see it.

Litmus are in the finals of
the Indy Music Awards 2008.
Thanks to everyone who voted for us. Now we just need to wait for
the judges to make their decision.
16 March
Another
gig for the UK's hardest working
spacerock band; this time at the
Grosvenor in
Stockwell. Work on the new album is proceeding apace; all that
remains on the recording side is for Anton to do his stuff with his
magic hands and then for the vocals to be done.

Apologies to everyone who
came to see us at Eastern Haze; an unlikely series of unexpected
automotive events (how many things can go wrong with one car in one
day?) led to half the band being unable to arrive. We will try
to find a way of making this up to everyone.

Another
gig; this time in Tamworth on July
27th.
10 April
Andy Thompson has managed to escape
from Litmus! Andy spent 6 years as the synth and keyboard
player in Litmus before managing to escape from his minders after
the Bilston gig on April 4th. Andy was a key part of the Litmus
sound and will be hard to replace. Litmus wish Andy all the
best for the future.
10 March
The release date for
Planetfall has now been confirmed as April 30th 2007; samples will
be on the MySpace site very soon.
05 March
We have been confirmed for
the South of Mainstream
festival in Germany on 7th-8th September 2007. We will
probably be playing in the evening of the 8th.
